Santa Clara Artist Jason Ebelacker Joins Culturalpatina on the East Coast to Show Case His Extraordinary Potter July 24, 2017 14:34

As noted in one of my recent blogs, I mentioned that we would have a new Native American Artist working with culturalpatina to offer some beautiful new traditional Santa Clara Pottery. His name is Jason Ebelacker and he makes absolutely beautiful pieces using traditional methods and designs.

Jason learned how to make pottery from his father (Richard Ebelacker) an award winning potter, Jason has followed his father's footsteps. Winning two first awards In the youth division at the Santa Fe Indian market before he turned eighteen . He takes a lot of his designs and shapes from the Tafoya family pottery . He believes in the traditional forms and methods of making and firing pottery . Five years ago (2012) he decided to become a full time potter . Since then he has won top awards at the Autry museum show in California, the Heard museum show in Arizona, and at the Santa Fe Indian market.

I have posted some snaps below of Jason actually making his pottery. From start to finish the larger pieces like we have at culturalpatina shown here take just about a week to make these extraordinary works of art. I hope you enjoy his work as much as I do. Thank you Jason for working with culturalpatina on the East Coast, we appreciate it very much. Jason will be at the upcoming Santa Fe Indian Market on August 19th and 20th so stop by and see his work if you plan on attending.
